Drawing the time and space of Antarctica. How do you cope? Also short lecture on my work to rest of the base: scientists and military. Interesting – difficult to pitch it so that it could be understood by all!

Long march led by the camp doctor across frozen lakes 9 metres deep, glacier and sea edge. Stopped off to shelter and make tea in an exposed tiny metal cabin perched on the snow edge. Whales in the distance blowing as they go.
