In the Chinese restaurant in Tianjin the evening was quiet and the waitress nice but Poe faced. ‘ we only serve bottles of wine’ she said rather sternly. ‘ Celine’ was not to be messed with!
Ok I said and whispered in my lonely space but you must have a glass with me? Of which she melted and brought extra glass! This was a mistake nicely on my part , I thought on my part as she told me she could not describe the wine list as she had never been allowed to taste it’. She necked it and another. Immediately she went crossed eyed and hammered her way around the restaurant tables. Oh dear I thought I’ll get her the sack. All was well but maybe never again. I left her half cut but happy!
